Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions? We’ve got you covered. Whether you're a first-time parent exploring healthy meal options or a busy family looking for convenient, nutritious food for your little ones — our FAQ section is here to guide you.

1. What ages are your meals suitable for?

We serve children from 6 months to 5 years old, across four stages:
Stage 1: Smooth Purees (6–8 months)
Stage 2: Textured & Blended Meals (8–12 months)
Earthy Roots: Toddler Meals (1–3 years)
Earthy Blossoms: Bigger Kids Plates (3–5 years)

Each meal is portioned, cooked, and selected based on what’s developmentally appropriate for your child.

2. Can I customize meals based on my child’s preferences or allergies?

Absolutely! During sign-up, you can share any dietary preferences or allergy concerns. We’ll tailor your child’s meal plan to ensure safe and enjoyable eating.

3. Are the purees and plates free from allergens like nuts, dairy, and gluten?

We take great care to avoid cross-contamination, but we cannot guarantee meals are completely free from common allergens. Always check ingredient lists and consult your pediatrician if your child has allergies.

4. Are there preservatives or artificial ingredients in your meals?

No. All our meals are made without artificial preservatives, sweeteners, or colorings. This means they may have a shorter shelf life compared to store-bought baby foods.

5. Is this food suitable for all babies?

Our meals are crafted for healthy, full-term babies. Please consult your pediatrician if your child has allergies, special dietary needs, or if you’re introducing solids for the first time.

6. How are meals delivered, and do I need to be home?

We hand-deliver meals once a week in insulated bags that keep food fresh for hours. If you’re not home, we’ll leave the bag safely at your door.

7. When and how do deliveries happen?

Deliveries occur every Wednesday and Thursday, depending on your delivery zone. Meals are cooked fresh and delivered cold on the same day. Refrigerate them immediately or freeze for longer storage.

8. How should I store the purees and plates after delivery?

Store meals in the refrigerator at or below 40°F (4°C) for 24–48 hours. For longer storage, freeze and consume within 1 month.

9. How long can I keep frozen purees and plates?

Frozen meals can be kept for up to 1 month. Once thawed, they should not be refrozen.

10. How should I heat and serve the meals?

Meals come with simple heating instructions. Most can be warmed in under 2 minutes in a microwave or hot water. Stir well and always check the temperature before serving.

11. How do I thaw frozen purees and plates?

Thaw meals overnight in the refrigerator or use a microwave-safe container for quicker thawing. Do not thaw at room temperature.

12. Can I leave the food out at room temperature?

No. For safety, do not leave baby food out for more than 2 hours.

13. Can I save leftovers for the next meal?

No. Discard any leftovers that have come into contact with your child’s mouth or spoon.

14. What should I do if my baby has an allergic reaction?

Stop feeding immediately and contact your pediatrician or seek medical attention if needed.

15. Is your kitchen certified and inspected?

Yes. All meals are prepared in a licensed commercial kitchen in Calgary that complies with Alberta Health standards. We follow strict food safety and sanitization protocols at every step.

16. How do I pause or cancel my subscription?

You can pause or cancel anytime via your account dashboard. There are no hidden fees or complicated steps.

17. What is your refund policy?

If there’s an issue with your order (e.g., missing meals or damaged packaging), contact us within 4 hours of delivery at info@theearthymeals.com. We’ll gladly try to make it right.
